Lost Soul

I was born into a christian family, and I hated it...so when I was in 5th grade I began to research other religions. I came to follow a branch of the Pagan religion, Wicca. I kept this a secret.

In 8th grade there was confirmation in my church, and I had fallen hard for a boy in youth group so I decided to give it a try. I read my Bible and did all my devotions, hey, I even got the guy. But eventually we broke up, and I became bored with Christianity.

I lost all of my close friends. I started to party a lot, got involved with a lot of the wrong stuff and wrong people.

Finally, I got bored and realized the only friends I did have left were going to youth group. So I went, too..though not because I believed in God. Though I despised our youth pastor at first, I finally gave in and started listening, because all of my friends were listening and I had no one to talk to. I began to want the peace he carried, but I didnt think God would forgive me of my life of sin. So at a fasting lock-in one night, we had a speaker talking to us about how Jesus wants to be in your life no matter what has happened in the past...so I prayed for forgiveness and for Christ to be a part of me. I didnt really give up my life however until that summer, on a mission trip to St. Louis.

We had training in Nashville, and the staff put on a play of Jesus' crucifixion. I sat down and watched...and I fell to my knees in pure ecstasy and prayed and cried for hours. The feeling of God's love is one of amazement that cannot be put into words. I will never forget that, and I have now been walking with Christ and doing my best to lead others to Him for 2 years.
